Mika’s new album No Place In Heaven now available
Singer Mika has released a new album, No Place in Heaven, and it’s available from today on iTunes (and other places). The Lebanese-British musician has been releasing music since 2006 but it was 2007 that proved to be his break-out year when BBC Radio picked him as their breakout artist for the year (an honor recently given to Years & Years).
Previously Mika (who’s real name is Michael) was coy in interviews about his sexuality and hoped to avoid being labelled, but he was clear in 2012 when he described himself as gay.
The 14-song album is Mika’s first in almost three years following his third studio album The Origins of Love released in 2012 and had the most success in France where it reached number one on the charts. Mika’s second album The Boy Who Knew Too Much had peaked at number four in the UK. His sound is fresh and energetic, often compared to Queen’s Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Rufus Wainwright (all gay voices) and Scissor Sisters.
At the moment his only upcoming concert is in Montreal’s Place Des Arts on July 4. Check out Mika on iTunes.
