The top 20 gay movies of 2016 on iTunes will surprise you

The gay movies available on iTunes section is our most popular feature with hundreds of people checking it out every day. So we decided to crunch the numbers and see which films were the most popular in 2016 based on the movies readers were looking at and visiting on iTunes.

In compiling the top 20 most popular gay iTunes films we found a few surprises, including 2 films that are no longer available on iTunes! And in the case of the number one most popular film of 2016 by a margin of 25%, Aleksandr’s Price is still available on iTunes but it was given a new ID number, rendering the old link invalid.

We’ve been updating our film database this month to ensure we’re tracking more films, relinking moved movies, and removing ones from our iTunes list if they have been completely pulled from iTunes. But we’ve kept the unavailable movies and found alternative places to rent and buy them. If they’re popular, you probably want to watch them!

The following is our list of the most popular gay films available on iTunes from 2016 ranked in order by most popular. There are four pairs of films that tied based on our algorithm, but we have not had them share a spot on the leaderboard. We’re also going to use our algorithm to help pick the featured films we show in our gay films on iTunes section.
