Elliot Page introduces his trans ‘Umbrella Academy’ character
Elliot Page has introduced the world to his updated character, Viktor Hargreeves, in the upcoming third season of the Netflix series’. Prior to the new season, Page hadn’t starting transitioning, but the show has worked the change into the show’s storyline.
Originally Umbrella Academy showrunners weren’t going to update the character Page played, cisgender women Vanya, but the plan is now for Hargreaves sibling to come out as trans in the Netflix series which returns June 22. The Netflix twitter account even quote-retweeted Page’s original post, adding, “Welcome to the family, Viktor—we’re so happy you’re here.”
We’re also looking forward to Page’s upcoming memoir, Pageboy, which is set to explore his life, career, and recent transition.
